As the name says, I’m in the Japanese capital. I teach. I also like taking pictures. I’m hardly a fervent disciple of the Mother Tongue. I do it as it a means to end. This blog is more to do with what I see around me, rather than any direct pedagogic experience. Inevitably though, they sit alongside each other in a schedule that takes me from one corner of Tokyo to another. Rarely are any of these pictures taken with forethought though occasionally, I may go with a specific idea in mind. That’ll involve a different camera, too. I use an LX3 day to day but once in a while, when inspiration gets the better of me, I’ll pack my bag with an EOS 400D and couple of lenses, pack a tripod, too. Evenings are when I habitually prowl. Only then do I have any time.

Part 2…
Tokyo – That’s where I was. But now I’m back home. Most of the above still applies, give or take six or seven thousand miles and what I’ll find in front of me. The change is one I am still getting used to.

Great picture. Looking forward to more, and the attending commentary…
